Suboxone Outpatient FAQs

Suboxone

Focus Healthcare’s Suboxone Outpatient Program provides a new approach to the management and treatment of opioid addiction. Our comprehensive program addresses the disease of addiction and helps the individual restore functioning in all areas of life. For the highly motivated individual, this program can be a lower cost alternative to inpatient treatment and also cause less disruption in one’s life.

WHO IS APPROPRIATE FOR THIS PROGRAM?

Individuals for whom Suboxone may be an appropriate treatment option are those who:

  • are 18 years of age or older,
  • have symptoms of physical or psychological dependence or addictive behaviors which cause problems in daily living are not using/abusing substances such as alcohol or benzodiazepines,
  • do not require inpatient detoxification due to existing medical conditions or significant psychiatric conditions are willing and able to be compliant with all program requirements.

HOW LONG SHOULD I BE ON SUBOXONE?

Until the patient and the physician determine that there is enough stability in the patient’s life and the patient has a strong foundation for recovery.

WHAT TYPE OF COUNSELING IS AVAILABLE FOR ME?

The therapy component of your treatment will be dependent upon several factors such as your prior treatment history and current support network. There are two tracks of programming. One track of programming is more intensive and provides for approximately four to six weeks of three sessions of three hours per week. These sessions will be provided in group format, being both educational and therapeutic in content. The second track provides for group therapy, one session per week, which is also both educational and therapeutic in nature. Both tracks will necessitate intensive, close contact with the facility during the first 2-3 days of your treatment program. Family therapy is also available at any point during your treatment. You will be expected to participate in Twelve Step Recovery Groups.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROGRAM LAST?

The therapy component will decrease in frequency, the longer you are here in treatment. You will have less and less contact with the facility as you demonstrate and practice your new recovery skills. You will have used the time that you have been here to develop a solid support system, have a relapse prevention plan in place and are pursuing a healthy, productive joy-filled life.
