Focus Healthcare of Tennessee Awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval

Focus Healthcare of Tennessee has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in behavioral health care. The accreditation award recognizes Focus Healthcare of Tennessee’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.

Focus Healthcare of Tennessee underwent a rigorous on-site survey as part of the accreditation. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated Focus Healthcare of Tennessee for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of individuals served and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

"In achieving Joint Commission accreditation, Focus Healthcare of Tennessee has demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of care for the people they serve," says Mary Cesare-Murphy, Ph.D., executive director, Behavioral Health Care Accreditation, The Joint Commission. “Behavioral Health accreditation is a voluntary process and I commend Focus Healthcare of Tennessee for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.”

A new support group for families is starting at Focus Healthcare of Tennessee. The only criteria for attending is that you have a family member who struggles with addiction.

Focus Families Anonymous meets Friday’s at 6:00 pm. The first group is Friday, January 21, 2011, at Focus Healthcare, 7429 Shallowford Road, across from the YMCA.
